This guitar is SOLD pending payment. Thanks for looking.

This week's offering is a very clean 1997 Hamer Daytona in black:

I purchased this guitar from an HFC member 4 or 5 years ago. Unfortunately, due to my inability to fathom Strat-style guitars, I never bonded with this one, in spite of its classic beauty. This guitar never got much playing time in its residence at the 4-3-2-1 Club, but it did make one or two appearances at HFC jams.

As stated above, this guitar is VERY clean, with no nicks whatsoever. There are two minor indentations above the pickguard which are very difficult to see. I could probably photograph them with an extreme reflection photo (just looked at the photos again, and they're visible in the windowframe reflection of the 2nd photo). There are some minor pick marks and other whorls.

The guitar is on the heavy side, and again, I have no scale to weigh it, but I'd guess it's above 8 lbs. (Guess it's time to get a scale.)

The case is in good shape, but does have a few minor tears in the tolex.

I'd like to get $600 plus shipping. $50 off if I don't have to ship, and I will be at the Muse Cafe on April 22 if you'd like to arrange pickup there.

Email me at bemcbride4321 at hotmail dot com if you're interested.

Edited to add neck profile information: This one has a medium neck profile. Not too thick, not too thin. In other words, medium

Bump for a very nice guitar. I'd hate to see this one go back into the stacks. This one should be played!

I wish I could swing it right now. I would be all over this. I need another Strat-Type.

Bruce,

Does that have a "Guitarworks" sticker on the back of the headstock?

If so, I was the original owner of the gutiar and sold it to a HFCer in Iowa some years back.

It's a nice guitar. The owner of Guitarworks (Greenwood, IN) mentioned to me that it was his understanding to be one of the last Daytonas made.

That guitar was tenderly taken care fo in its years w/ me. By the looks of the pictures, other owners were similarly careful.

Good luck,

Marc

Not any longer. It did have it there when I purchased it, but I took it off. Nice to have some history on this one, thanks Marc! I'm trying to remember the guy's name I bought it from. Sean, I think. He used to post here occasionally, but I haven't seen him online in quite some time.

Bruce,

Yup. I sold it to Sean.

This is a nice guitar, folks. When I had it, it had no issues. I sold it only b/c I didn't feel the need for a strat-type guitar.

It look s to me like it's been well taken care of.

Good luck!

Marc

By the way Bruce, I'm in Green Bay...if you're ever driving through, give me a holler.

I'm the proud new owner of this beautiful glossy black Daytona. Just wanted all to know how pleased I am with the transaction. The guitar is in excellent condition, and it was a great experience trading emails with Bruce. I've been playing acoustic and electric for many years, never owned a strat-style, and I'm really enjoying playing this one. Cannot beat a Hamer anywhere for artistry, quality, reliability. You should see the paint work on this one; you can look into it for miles. Too bad they are no longer made, but this one remains in good hands. Anyone looking to buy, sell, or trade with Bruce certainly has my recommendation--he's one standup HFC'er, and I'd do business with him again any day!

Congrats! Agreed, like your Daytona, Bruce M. is all class. ;)
