We'll have to plan something else at the Eagle's Club. The place was enjoyable, and the bartenders were very attentive. I guess we did keep them busy, but that's a good thing for a bartender.

Don't worry Conrad. We've all taken a while to post our photos. Here are a few people pics to keep everyone busy while you sort your PC issues. Bruce and Carmie sing at the Friday Jam. Robbie sings out at the 4321 while... ...Toni gets into the tune too. Gary and Eric relax before the Golden Jam while... ...Pam and Carmie smile for the camera.

OK, here's a few more! This is Pam and Al on Friday. Ted singing his heart out for us. Another cool shot with Robbie and Eric.

Ok Guys, I've procrastinated enough, and even though I'm still sleep-deprived from the weekend and from attending the Rolling Stones concert last night (WooHoo!!!), here are some of my pictures. Bruce and Pam enjoy the gathering with the early arrivals on Friday. Bruce, Carmie, Toni, Pam, and Al play during the Friday pre-party jam. Toni did a fantastic job holding down the drum chair on Friday and for several tunes on Saturday. Joe shows some exuberance before the party starts Ted brought the youngest Hamer Fan in-training to help out with the video duties. Part 2 Al (Butcher) during a particularly serious moment... Eric strikes a dramatic pose Robbie and Ted perform early in the evening. Robbie and Dave play one of Dave's original tunes. Syd and Pam crank out some tunes. Our long-distance traveler award winner Conrad enjoys a cold beverage. This last image pretty well sums up the evening as Bruce tok time for a little dancing. I had a great time and really look forward to the next gathering whenever it may be!

Carmie and I just got home too. Whew, what a great party and pre-party. This is a great bunch of talented, generous people we've had the good fortune to meet. It was truly wonderful to get to play with all the HFC guys and girls again on Friday and Saturday nights. Robbie said he feels like the luckiest guy in the world to get to hang out with this group, and I feel the same way. I look forward to the next opportunity to see you guys again. Pictures will follow after I get some rest tonight...

Getting your wife's permission to buy a Hamer
gfc55 replied to salem's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
In our house, I'm usually the one who wants a new instrument (bass), but since Carmie plays guitar, she understands and appreciates the reason for my interest. She's very supportive, and sometimes she ends up getting a new guitar too like the "Extra Special" we (She) acquired this past weekend. It's cool when both of you love guitars. -
Gotta be a TonePros. I knew those were now stock on stop-tuna guitars. Good to see the same is true for wraparounds. Yep, it is a Tone Pros bridge as MC Chris said. Mike Flynn of Flynn Guitars in Evanston, IL dreamed up this one. It really turned out very cool.

Today, Carmie and I brought home a beautiful new Hamer "Extra Special" from our good friends at Flynn Guitars. This guitar was a custom order that Mike Flynn came up with, and we've been looking at it in the store for several weeks now, but Carmie bonded with it today. The pictures really don't do it justice, but it is a Hamer Special FM in a Trans Black finish over a premium quilt top. It has P90's, which made it extra interesting to us because we didn't have any guitars with P90's. Here's a shot highlighting the top of the guitar. This is what Carmie is doing while I type this message! And finally, this is a shot of the proud new owner with her lovely new guitar. Now we have two new Trans Black beauties to bring to BruceM's bash next month. WooHoo!

Right back at ya, Dave! We enjoyed hanging out with you and your lovely wife at your pre-gig dinner. Thanks again to you for coming up with the concept for this cool bass. I can't say that I would have thought of this particular combination on my own.

It's here, and it's fantastic, and it's mine!!! I've just spent the last couple of hours checking it out and comparing it to my original '59-burst Monaco Bass. This new bass is a monster tone machine. It resonates and rings like very few instruments I've ever played. I'll post more info, but I just had to say I got it, it's great, and Dave(elduave) was great to deal with. You magnificent bastard! Congrats! Much like Brooks is synonymous with the Duotone, George is synonymous with the Monaco bass. The two were made for each other. Looking forward to hearing you in action with it. Chris, I plan to post a comparison of the two Monaco basses when I get a chance (probably over the long weekend). They are more different sounding than I would have ever imagined. I'm actually glad that it turned out that way because it's a lot easier to have two similar looking but different sounding basses than to have two identical sounding ones. More to come...

I can't wait to hear it, play it, and leave some fingerprints! Bruce, I already told Dave that this bass will make its formal debut at your party. I'm sure a lot of people will want to check it out and Dave is more than willing to order other Monaco Basses for people

The satin finish just has a matte look instead of the high-gloss look for Hamer's normal finish. On this bass, it just looks like rock & roll. The whole instrument has a soft, black and white look that is a nice change of pace from my other glossy finish basses. Elduave had a vision on this custom order, and it turned out really cool.

Dave, that Monaco Bass is sure tempting. You know you're not supposed to let me see things like that!

The new design looks good, guys. Count me in for 2 in Large and Ctrixie in for 2 Medium.

WOW! That is a beautiful guitar. I love the details like the bound ebony fingerboard and the meticulous build quality that just shines through in the photos. Enjoy it!
