I think the first song to come out of this beauty should be "Things Ain't What they used to" by Jim Hall. It's a 175 delivering an incredible tone on a sweet sweet blues played by a master... Something to pursue with that one you are getting build. Congrats... Juan

Yupssss Check my "175" not a custom thing but unique anyway. I think natural and p90's either black or creme is a great choice Um, isn't this a ES-295 RI? http://vintage-guitars.blogspot.com/2006/0...son-es-295.html It's a 295 Reissue from 1991. It's gold all over the guitar. I guess it is not very tone wise. But a couple of true p90 and a natural finish is a winner combination. I love natural finish. Cheers

I have felt sort of the same "detachment" with the whole eBay thing, and recently even have found myself actually walking into a local music store to look for a price on a new guitar I'm interested in and even leaving with a good dealer price on the guitar that made getting the guitar on eBay absurd (here you have to ad a 18% VAT plus a 3% customs of the declared value plus shipping plus distress with the wait). But... having said so, I live in Madrid, Spain and second hand market here is pretty narrow and for me eBay is unbeatable. Thanks to this interface I have owned several guitars that I could have died waiting for them to pop up on a forum or the equivalent spanish Craig list. Although the honeymoon is far behind, it is still my first reference when looking for gear (the currency war nowadays makes buying on eBay.com more interesting). Cheers Juan

The only two times I played outdoors/big stage the perception I got is that the tone of my amp was dry as hell. The first time it was as if the reverb had gone and the second (different band and style) the gain. It was only my impression as outside tone was ok. Simply be a little bit more concentrated.

My understanding is the best way to find out these things is to contact your preferred dealer to request the Hamer you'd like and see what happens. At this point, it may be that no one at Hamer KNOWS what is going on any more than anyone here. FMIC is calling the shots, no? Well, I have already done that. I chose a custom order over a Standard to make it a Black Beauty Hamer Standard and my election was before knowing Mr. Jol had left the company. I tossed'n'turned a little bit, but I decided to go ahead. This custom order has some details that had to be discussed and there has been active communication from both sides regarding this things. The order was finally placed a couple of weeks ago... I'll keep you updated and when it finally sees the light I'll post my impressions about this post-Dantzig custom order... Cheers, Juan
