  1. Guitar is sold to MrMunky! Thanks everyone for their interest... I'm feeling pretty bittersweet- now I'm Hamerless But my rent will get paid...
  2. Due to unresponsive potential buyers... still for sale Going to put this on eBay on Sunday, please contact me prior to then if you're interested... $1000 shipped
  3. I've got no goes from jerrymc and cynic, and awaiting a response from bubby1026... Those are all the PMs I have received, hopefully everything went through. So long as bubby1026 isn't interested, this guitar is still up for grabs- $1000 shipped. ) edit- I'll keep checking my PM box, but you can also contact me at gilleram at dukesdotjmudotedu
  4. btt- $1100 shipped. $1000 local pickup (DC area).
  5. still for sale... $1100 shipped within the US and I'll meet within 100 miles of DC to drop off..
  6. The neck on my Elite is definitely a wide/thin, so I'd imagine it's pretty similar to the smaller one from the 96 artist....
  7. Hello, Did your Hamer sell? Still very much for sale. Asking $1100 shipped, but open to offers. I am in Harrisonburg currently and am moving up to Washington DC in mid-May, for those who'd want to check the axe out in person.
  8. final bump... before it goes to eBay... asking $1100 shipped but open to any offers.
  9. so there wasn't a scale at the guitar shop... but the bathroom scale method gives a weight of 7 pounds. This is consistent with the 6.5-7 pound guesstimate i was given at the guitar store. Light, but still plenty resonance and tone...
  10. The main difference is the body shape... this is more Les Paul like as compared to the slightly larger Superpro body. The pickups in the Elite are Seymour Duncan Custom and Custom/Customs, versus what I think are SD Seth Lovers stock in the Superpro... I'll bet I'm missing something, but this much I think is true. I'm off to a local music shop to get the guitar weighed now...
  11. Btt- I will lower the price to $1100 shipped... Open to offers also...
  12. Hello. I have posted this guitar for sale previously, so here is one last shot before it goes off to eBay... I purchased this guitar from Mobster aka VegasGreg (?) in 2001 or 2002. It is a chambered sunburst model that I believe BCR ordered only several of. Bone stock, except for a different tone pot. The chambered option makes it lighter weight, but still sustain very well. It also has a great clean, full acoustic tone in the middle p/up setting. Here are some recent pictures: The guitar is in great shape! One smaller-than-pinhead ding close to the bridge p/up, underneath the strings. Very small clearcoat bubble on the front headstock. Some belt marks on the back, but none go through the clearcoat, making me think it can be buffed out. Case is perfect, has hang-tags but not the Hamer certificate. Had the tone pot changed by Action Music in Northern Virginia, so it was more progressive from 0-10, versus just from 7-10... Stock p/ups, never had them changed... Great guitar, I just play my Tacoma acoustic almost exclusively now. I am willing to let this guitar go for $1200 shipped. I will accept Paypal for payment from confirmed accounts. I also also deliver the guitar within 150 miles of 22801 (Shenandoah Valley), in which case I would also accept cash payment. Please contact me here, at [email protected], or at 703-4014701 with any questions or requests. It has been a pleasure to own this guitar, and I hope that it can serve another in the HFC family as well. Thanks, Ari.
  13. Well I am officially trying to sell this guitar. I am currently visiting family in Phoenix but I will be home Sunday (11/29) to shoot some more pics for those interested. I can ship but also deliver within 75 miles of 22801 (Shenandoah Valley, VA). I would be willing to sell outright for $1300 shipped, and am not interested in trades. Let me know any other info I can provide. edit--> like my e-mail address: gillerxamxatxjmuxdotxedu
  14. Hello all.... hope things have been good here, as I've been absent from this forum for a while now. Been playing/gigging with my rosewood Tacoma DR-38 exclusively now, and my 2002 Monaco Elite is increasingly sitting unused. I gotta pay tuition for another year at JMU, and am considering selling it. Just wanted to see if there's any interest here before eBay, Facebook, etc.. It's from the chambered Elite custom run BCR Greg did in 2002. The paint job is not stock, and was described as 'Antique Darkburst.' Matching burst on the back and neck. MOP logo and victory inlays. Stock SD custom p/ups. More progressive tone pot added by Action Music, VA. No finish bubbling, just some pick scratches and one pin-head size ding by bridge p/up. Here's some older picks: On eBay I would be asking at least $1300, but it would be much easier another HFCer here wants it. Please inquire via PM or to gilleramxatxjmu.edu with genuine interest- I'd be happy to give additional info and post better pics. Thanks, Ari
  15. guys who else on this boad (other than me) has listened to a Decemberists album...
  16. ending jam with Rick Nielsen was awesome!!! Colbert on the vocoder doing the exit theme
  17. Peter Frampton?!? Not very impressed with the guitar, but obviously it's sick to get Hamer and guitar culture on Nat'l TV!!! This is sweet!
  18. the herb has been getting danker and more bountfiful
  19. hey check out Mesa boogie's old dc series. They made em in 50 and 100 watts, the cd-5 combo can be had for cheap, even the half stack version is under a grand... look for the Black Shadow speakers as they are the cat's ass. mine is loud at 50 watts, but the three channels are all usable, especially with the equalizer. Blackface soundin cleans, you can really get the pull pot for the dirty channel into Marshall territory, and of course this is what predated the rectifier circuit in the lead channel. Scooping the mids with the EQ is cool, Mesas have a different way of adjustment completely. I don't think they're inherently harder to dial in, but the take longer, and make you take a different approach. Here's mine: http://photos-309.ak.facebook.com/ip004/v3...994309_8541.jpg
  20. Huge Dave Matthews fan here If only because I started out on acoustic, and the challenging rhythm and hand twisting chord voicings made me a much better player... as popular music goes, really cool jazz-jam sounds... the older stuff always seems to be better tho
  21. NoVA we'll get everybody there!!!
  22. experimental/noise rock: sonic youth- daydream nation space rock: hum- heavenward is downward shoegaze: my bloody valentine- loveless post punk / hardcore: At the Drive In- Vaya or Vacancy EPs alt rock: incubus- morning view nu metal: lostprophets- the fake sound of progress chill / ambient: acoustic vol. 1-4
  23. Chag Sameach to everyone at the HFC Nothing like some horse raddish and gefilte fish... on a side note, there needs to be a Jewish law against this kinda thing on a Sat night...
