Saul Goodman Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 Got an email from Sweetwater this morning says you have to call for special deals. I flipped through about 6 pages and saw a cart with 4 wheels on it for $999. Saw a pair of headphones for $2500. Saw turntables for 2k. Saw a Fender Strat they think is worth 6k. I wonder what the deal is if you call. I found a microphone cable for $34. Think I'll call on that since I'm thinking about learning home recording. You can't put anything in a cart from these pages. You have to call or message. Not sure if it's worth wasting my reps time for a microphone cable but they asked for it. 65 pages for your viewing pleasure. Seriously, doesn't look like there is anything there for me. Anything interest you? Quote

velorush Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 I get similar emails from Kraft Music (WI) - "call for deals!" I don't understand the setup: am I supposed to call and ask for a list of random products that are on sale or am I supposed to call on the hope something I'm shopping for is on sale? Either case seems an incredibly inefficient means of conveying discount information. If it's such a good deal, why not list the discounts offered on a special web page and move on? Are they selling Gibson guitars, for example, which prohibits advertising anything below MSRP on new merchandise? Maybe that's it... FWIW: I have never 'called for a deal.' 3 Quote

I sent an email through their little popup window. I figured if they wanted to give me a deal on one cable then what ever. My rep is really nice so I didn't want to waste his time but you know, a deal is a deal. He sent this email: Hello Saul! Luke here at Sweetwater, thanks for the message! I can do that cable at 20% off, free shipping if that is all you need. Let me know and I can put it on an invoice and send you a PayPal link for payment. What did you decide on the T5V speakers?
