Question

Hello.

I have a stock USA Centaura with Slammer pickups made in 1990.

I'd like to know, what does the tiny switch supposed to do? It is definitely not bridge humbucker coil split.

The change in sound is very subtle and not in all selector positions.

It is definitely subtle - on the guitars with an active preamp its an on/off - for the passive guitars its similar to a PRS Sweet Switch - taking off a bit of top end.

So it is basically a low-pass filter?

I have one, it's so subtle that I'm not sure if its working.

Perhaps you can change the value of the cap and/or add a resistor to experiment with different tonal variations?

It sounds good in either position, but good idea!  Those are such great guitars, strat cleans and rock from the humbucker, the perfect super-strat.  Mine is black sparkle, last time I played it 'out' I got the most compliments/attention for the look of that one. - if you can't get compliments on your playing, at least go for compliments on the look of your gear
