Gibson, inspired by . . . Hamer?

Did a double take on this Gibson for-sale in Facebook Market place.  Yeah, its not exactly the same as a Chappie, but dang its close.  Not in the market for FR guitars back then so had never seen this one before.

Until Slash, the Les Paul seemed 'guitarra non grata' in the 80's. Everyone was trying to figure a way into the Super Strat market.
