So, it never used to bother me when someone writes or states that a guitar "plays like butter".  Then, I noticed that my buddy Mike (Kizanski) was really aggravated by it.  After mentioning it a thousand times or more, it started to bother me too.  It's gotten to the point that I want to reply, "What does butter play like".  I prefer beef tallow, but that's for a different conversation entirely!

Hopefully, nobody will start a new, and no less problematic statement, "It plays like beef tallow"...

When I hear "plays like Butter" I interpret that to be very low action fast and easy to play. I've also heard "smooth as Butter" same meaning. As does "tuned by Angel's" which has nothing to do with Butter. But means the same as the butter statements. Then there's the gotta fight it a little. Which has nothing to do with fighting! So expressions about how a guitar plays really are not very good, but for some reason all guitar players understand them. So that brings to question "do guitar players have their own language" I dare say "Yes...Yes they do! So Crank It and Melt some faces!!!
