  1. SoundGarden put on a show in Sioux Falls at a brand new Washington Pavillion. They had the crowd bouncing so hard the Balcony started to give way. Now that a Rocking Band!!!
  2. When I hear "plays like Butter" I interpret that to be very low action fast and easy to play. I've also heard "smooth as Butter" same meaning. As does "tuned by Angel's" which has nothing to do with Butter. But means the same as the butter statements. Then there's the gotta fight it a little. Which has nothing to do with fighting! So expressions about how a guitar plays really are not very good, but for some reason all guitar players understand them. So that brings to question "do guitar players have their own language" I dare say "Yes...Yes they do! So Crank It and Melt some faces!!!
  3. Thank You for the tip! It says the mono is unavailable. I'm going to call them!
  4. I've tried to reach inside the barrel Jack's and pull the contacts out a bit. Worked for a while but the plugs just fall out again. I have some barrel Jack's in my parts bin, but they're not the same. Anyone know who made those blankety blank barrel jacks??
  5. A lot of those are men! Don't ask me how I know!!
  6. If your tube socket is broken away from the PC board there may be other issues like broken tracings. Much harder to repair. A socket installed into the chassis is far superior and much easier to replace. If it's PC mounted and the tracings aren't damaged, just get some wicket and remove the existing solder. (After you've drained the amp and tested with a DMM that you actually did drain the amp) then carefully lift the socket while hitting the inserts with a soldering iron as to not tear away the tabs. Slowly!! And carefully! Clean the area with alchohol and inspect with magnification to insure the PC is intact. Then reinsert the new one and solder. 7. Billy's been doing some stuff with Guthrie Trapp kind of a tex mex style. I like it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w3gPGmGbVro
  8. Bump for Price Drop! Cheapest Eastman Jr on the net shipped!!
  9. I really liked the southern Rock Scene! Played a ton of SR at bikers bars and parties!! Good pay! Great Coke! At the parties you had to stay behind the stage. They where really fussy about that. If you weren't a member you did not mingle. They'd come back stage and talk tho. I think the best Southern Rock album ever was Marshal Tuckers "Where We All Belong" there where many, but that's my favorite! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_k0xuGf6v8ELDGqAzC0VxEEef90L2ZbZd0&si=-OhRrqJ0fI1VXdU7
  10. Fralin Hum Cancelling -5% Black cover Dog Ear Bridge $130.00 Shipped Pay Pal F&F only
  11. I haven't been giving this enough love. Needs to go to some one who will play it more. Fun guitar! But for what I'm doing now my Novo just fits the material better. Tuners have been upgraded to Gibson Deluxe's. Bridge is upgraded to a Music City Bridge. Lollar Dog Ear P90. A couple of very small dings. Otherwise in excellent condition! OHSC! $1050.00 shipped. So you'd be paying $900.00 for the guitar. (Approx) You won't find one cheaper!! $900.00 picked up in Jacksonville. Thanks for the help @Saul Goodman
  12. No it was a Mark llB. 50 watt.
  13. I played thru a Mace for a few shows. It had EV speakers in it. FOH guy threatened to pour gas on it and burn it if he saw it on the backline again. Next show I was sporting a Boogie.
  14. I let mine go and after 2 hi-end Les Pauls I want my "The Paul" back!!! I thought I had to have a "better" LP. Sometimes you gotta learn the hard way. Mine was a '79. I'm glad you're digging that amp! I built 2 and kept one, which is now my primary gigging amp. The Bandmaster it replaced just sit's now, waiting for a big stage. I don't know if that'll ever happen tho...
  15. To a non player someone that has many guitars seems excessive. This was expressed to me that I was a guitar hoarder. I explained to them I am not. First I let them know that I've been playing guitar for over 60 years. So some of them are sentimental, like my Bruno Conquerer that I played my first gig with at 12 years old doing my best to sound like Jimmy Hendrix. On a hollow body Bruno and a Monkey Wards Tube amp. Then I continued that I had probly owned 100's of guitars and these that I have had something special. Be it the tone the way they played, they where just better than the others that got moved along. Then came the "Why do you need a $5000.00 Dollar Guitar" I explained that I wanted to try it too see what all the fuss was about(Novo Miris J). Well it's gonna stay and Now I'm going to buy a Novo Serrus J. Why??? Because I can! My daughter inlaw just shook her head and left. She'll really never understand. But she gets that I'm not getting rid of any. Just adding! Any one else get the Why do you need so many Question?
  16. I've been thinning too! No guitars yet but a bunch of amps. A studio here in FL came over to check out my 68 Super Bassman. The rare one they only built for a couple months. They left with that amp, a 64' Bandmaster, a 63 6G6B Bassman, and a 65 AA864 Blackface Bassman. All amps from my studio. I still have 8 amps left. I really don't want to sell those yet!
  17. I checked the pups in my son's SG which I really like the sound of and they are custom buckers. It's a long Tenon model but I don't know what year it is. The pups are original to the guitar. I keep trying to trade it away from him, but he knows he's got a great player!!
  18. RIP Jay, you will be missed!
  19. I have a peak esr tester. It doesn't work on small caps. It's excellent on electrolytic, which I think is what it was meant for. I also have a BK precision 810C. I really like that one it measures the tiniest caps other just float open on. So Unless you need the ESR read out the BK 810 C is a nice older unit!
  20. I am not a fan of the 57's. I have a set in a CS ES339. Same kinda deal, muddy, no expresivness. Just gets muddled together and lost. Tell Josh what your looking for and he'll deliver. Has several times for me. I don't know how much time he has for winding between running the Bar/dancehall and being on the road gigging. But give him a shout.
  21. Words cannot express what Wanye accomplished! Just a straight up good guy! The world just lost a good one RIP Wayne
