gkelm Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 SOLD! Will delete when transaction is completed. Thanks. ************************* One of the finest blackface tone generators available. Truly point-to-point hand wired and in excellent condition. Sounds great...loud and proud. Beautiful reverb on clean channel, also has OD channel with MV (but the clean side is really where it shines). Recently upgraded/serviced by Carr ($375) which included a new 12" Kingpin speaker, Analysis Plus speaker cable/plug, and tubes. Has 4 Sovtek 6V6 power tubes, preamps tubes are a mix of GT & RCA. There was also a mod done to prolong tube live, as well as the "imp mod" (1/2000). Serial #14. Tip-top condition, ready to enjoy. $1400 shipped CONUS. (paypal please add 3%) A nice Fender type amp is lower priority for me right now, and those tones are covered sufficiently with my Allen...so this puppy is on the block. Need funds for /13 and LP fund. I'll try to get some additional pics up later today. Thanks. Greg

larryl Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I have a Slant 6V at Carr right now for the same tweaks. What a great company, and the BEST sounding small boutique amp I have ever heard! AMAZING TONE in a 112 box. The hand wiring is impeccable. The parts will outlast me! NASA doesn't use parts of this high a quality! He over-builds all of his amps. This amp has 2 low power modes that make it ideal for home pactice while still letting the tone come through. This is a builder that takes pride in his work. When you call the company, you talk with Steve Carr or Tim, the tech guru. When they re-work one of their amps, it takes a month - they test every conceivable part of the amp from electronics to grill cloth. they have such pride in their products that they want it to come back to you better than new!Unfortunately, it is a small company and maybe does not have the marketing or endorsements that make them as visible as Dr. Z, Bogner, Mathless, Bad Cat. But I guarantee you, Carr amps give these guys a run for their money!Larry
bobbymack Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I had one of these for a year or so, right around when they came out, maybe '99 or 2000...great amp. accurately described above. It is extremely LOUD. I ended up selling it to explore the low power world, where I still live. But that's just me, we don't play real loud...Great amp, clean channel is among the best I've heard....
