jdrnd Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 When I bought the guitar, as the dealer was putting the guitar in the case for me, he sprayed windex on it to get the finger prints off. All of the fingerprints were mine anyway since I had spent an over an hour and a half playing it (and a Monaco Elite) before deciding to buy it. He said Windex is all he uses. But I will take everyone's advice and utilize other polishes.
raymund Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I had the best experiences with Virtuoso Polish and Cleaner.
Stike Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 What about Windex? Don't spray Windex on lacquer and if you don't know what the finish is don't spray Windex. It's works just fine on polyester though.
kurtsstuff Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I usually just use an acetylene torch and 12 grit sand paper...kind of leaves a rough finish but...no prints at all!!!
blackfbiv Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 This thread keeps taunting me, it's 2 minutes to 5 and I'm bored outta my skull, so I might as well get my 2 cents in.Just say 'no' to cleaning guitars!!! Don't be scrubbin' off ANY of that mojo!!!(somebody hadda say it!)have a nice weekend.Dion
