cleaning guitars

When I bought the guitar, as the dealer was putting the guitar in the case for me, he sprayed windex on it to get the finger prints off. All of the fingerprints were mine anyway since I had spent an over an hour and a half playing it (and a Monaco Elite) before deciding to buy it. He said Windex is all he uses. But I will take everyone's advice and utilize other polishes.

I had the best experiences with Virtuoso Polish and Cleaner.

What about Windex?

Don't spray Windex on lacquer and if you don't know what the finish is don't spray Windex. It's works just fine on polyester though.

I usually just use an acetylene torch and 12 grit sand paper...kind of leaves a rough finish but...no prints at all!!! :)
