phoenix Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Any leads fellas. It'll help make my Park 75 plexi complete. WTB /locate original transformer from early 1970. It is,( the same as) a Marshall model 1967. Thanks as always. steve
BadgerDave Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Steve, if you have the original transformer, the folks ar Mercury Magnetics will rebuild it for you. They can also set you up with a new one that outperforms the original. However, if you have an amp with a replaced unit that you want to put back to original, my only suggestion is to try Cold Springs Electrical Works. I didn't see anything on their website, but Norm has tracked down old speakers for me.
Mr Fuzzy Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 +1 what BadgerDave said.If you have the original MM can rebuild it for you and it would probably sound better than a correct replacement.
phoenix Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 Thanks. It is old and cool but not the correct one. I'll call them. This is what I was hoping for. Excellent.
AdmiralB Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Who told you it should have a model 1967 OT? That's the OT for the 200W Major series, and it's ultralinear. I've never seen a Park 75 with anything other than a standard (for the era) Marshall 50W OT (model 1987/1986/etc.).
phoenix Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 AB, I wondered about that. My tech talking to Blechley sp. I thought they were just kicked up 25 watts by the tubes. KT-88's if Ive read correctly.the one below it is roughly march '71 and the iron is huge comparatively.
Turdus Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 You might try Angela Instruments in Maryland. Been awhile since I bought any parts there, but he used to have quite a supply, and a lot of Brit parts, etc.http://angela.com/
DaveH Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Steve, before you buy anything I'd suggest looking HERE .Joe can be dificult to reach at times, but he's done a LOT of research and development on those old Marshall transformers. I don't think you'd be disappointed.
