FunkyE9th Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Anyone ever A/B'd these 2 guitars? Any opinions? Korina probably lighter and brighter?I have the Artist Korina P90 and I really like how light it is. I'm thinking of getting an artist with HB to use instead of my studio. I typically use the studio to get the "heavier" HB sound. That's old skool heavy not really hi gain stuff. So I'm thinking of Artist Korina HB, but this guitar doesn't seem to come up in the used market in my price range. So looking I'm into the artist mahogany HB.I suppose the other option is to put a P90 sized humbucker on my Artist Korina P90. Is there Seth sounding P90 sized HB?-FunkyE9th
straightblues Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I don't have any Korina guitars so I can't compare. However I do have an Artist Mahogany with Humbuckers. It is a great classic rock guitar. I ended up selling my Studio because the Artist covered most of the same ground IMHO of course. I paid $650 for my Artist a couple of years ago. I really really like it. It is my only Humbucker guitar besides my Newport with TV'Jones TV'Trons.
JohnnyScarp Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I have a Rio Babybucker FS.http://www.riograndepickups.com/p90.htmlEmail me,Scarp
Travis Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 The reason why the Artist Korina HB doesn't come up in the used market very often is because they are so bad ass. I will never get rid of mine. Having said that, I may someday get an Artist Mahogany to pair with it. I think that might be kind of nice.

Is that right? Not sure if I'd like the idea of putting additional holes on the guitar.Thanks,-FunkyE9th
JohnnyScarp Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Just minor in cavity alt. Original pups back in - no visual change. Call BCRGreg. Ask him.Scarp
kanegon Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 This TV Jones P'tron came in the bridge of my Duotone. http://www.tvjones.com/powertron.htm Available in P90 case, N and B position. On the clean side of PAF, though I use it mostly with OD. Vintage output for sure.
