  1. I've been to a couple HFCs in Hartford, where I spent some quality post-Jam time with Mr and Mrs. Lee, Darc, and Alpep. Outside the musical realm, I experienced a pleasant Team Cajunboy invasion at one of our races in Houston.
  2. Oil Can Guitars! Mac Arnold's http://asideofblues.com/asideofblues/oil_c...uitar_story.htm
  3. I saw NR last night in Brookville, IN. Good show; Brad was great, and the guy they hired to portray the role of Watson nailed it.
  4. This means you'll be able to call and order that Hamer USA Californian Custom you've always wanted, and it will really have been built custom in California.
  5. Brad Gillis in 1986 and bought a Boogie amp.
  6. The clouds prepare for battle In the dark and brooding silence. Bruised and sullen stormclouds Have the light of day obscured. Looming low and ominous In twilight premature Thunderheads are rumbling In a distant overture... All at once, the clouds are parted. Light streams down in bright unbroken beams... Follow men's eyes as they look to the skies. The shifting shafts of shining weave the fabric of their dreams... --Jacob's Ladder Awesome
  7. So I guess that means the best sounding guitars that the world will ever know have already been built. Too bad NAMM is over; The announcement could have been made there. Think how many trees would have been saved from the boutique builders, hopelessly in search of tonal perfection, when it is, alas, unobtainable now. Someone at least needs to circulate a memo.
  8. The Floyded Strat was cool. Looked like it might have been a Charvel. Just glad he got through it all without being electrocuted.
  9. I dig the Reb Beach model -- Koa body and solid Pau Ferro necks.
  10. Post-80's Rush Post 70's Judas Priest (The guitars sounded like ass on the old LPs) Sadly, I think the trend seems backwards. Most of the newer bands who sound great on studio recordings tend to suck it hard whenever I finally hear them live.
  11. Sorry to hear that. My best to the Rindone's Frank is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
  12. I saw them about three years ago; Dubrow, Sarzo, Banalli, and Cavazo, in an empty club with about 30 other people. They seriously RAWKD!! Played like it was the US Festival again. I gained massive respect for them all after that one. They could have easily just gone through the motions, or pissed off completely, but they didn't. Easily one of my top ten shows ever.
