Lockbody Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Since getting a Triaxis, I'm selling my Boss Gt-8 to fund a new rack effects unit. The GT-8 is in excellent condition and has never left my house. I still have the original box and manual. No issues.Read all about it online Harmony-central, Bossgtcentral.com etc... but this is simply one of the best modelers/effects units you can buy. Manual mode ,or "stompbox mode" is almost worth the price of admission alone. About the coolest thing I found to do was leave it in manual mode and then switch programs with another controller. Very, very cool. The GT-8 also has a loop so you can insert effects (or another pre-amp!) at an point in the effect chain. One caveat, the GT-8 is not so much a plug and play device. You can tweak almost every parameter and really need to spend a good amount of time with the unit to get the best out of it. Read Bossgtcentral. Some give up before ever unlocking the power of it.HFC approved price of $350 plus $20 to ship. Postal Money Order or Paypal (add 3%). If you want to try the second controller option I'll sell my Rolls Midibuddy mp128 with it for $50.
LordOfTheThighs Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Does it come with factory presets, like famous players favorites, niche settings (like heavy metal, jazz, country twang-thang, etc)? That seems to be a really good price on a GT-8. Wish my Florida vacation wouldn't have soaked up my guitar/accesories cash.
atquinn Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 The GT-8 comes with a ton of presets. They seem to be more useful than the presets in the previous model (the GT-6), but I still think it takes some tweaking to get the best sounds out of it. I've had one almost since they came out and I think it's pretty sweet.-Austin
cloakerz Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I really like my gt-8 and YES there is so much to it. I haven't scratched the surface with it and need to get it set up for gigging.
Lockbody Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 Does it come with factory presets, like famous players favorites, nichesettings (like heavy metal, jazz, country twang-thang, etc)? It sure does. Instead of factory defaulting it, I'll leave in the famous "Lockbody Presets"
