guitfiddler Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I have several of these guitars & the build quality is better the reg. production Gibson USA guitars. + 1I have one (goldtop also) that was made for sale only in Japan, with the "open-book" Gibsonesque headstock (Epiphone "Les Paul Model") and you'd have to press me awfully hard and long before I'd part with it for 700.00

Dumo Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 +1 on these guitars being top notch. I had a black Standard that I sold to buy a Monaco. I miss it. I looked at and played a couple dozen Gibsons after I bought it (used for $750 about 3 years ago) and none of them made me want a Gibson. Not much comes close for the money. Gibson discontinued these for a reason. Too good for the price point.
