cordroad Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Got an old pal back (Kustom 200B guitar head - metallic silver) after having sold it to a friend close to 30 yrs. ago. because I was selling all kinds of stuff...needed down money for a house I was buying. Not gonna let 'her' out of my sight again though, too much nostalgia connected. Therefore, as this amp works fine and can easily take the place of 5 or six others out of over a dozen I have accumulated over the past several years. Mid-life crisis, perhaps? Gonna let these two go for now, maybe 2 -3 more right to follow. Starting to have trouble finding room to walk around in the house, lol. 1 Kustom 36 Coupe (Red trim) w/footswitch (never used,) manual, and custom cover (black) by Dan Chavers. Still has that new amp smell. $475. shipped conus. 1 Peavey Classic 50 Tweed (head unit... discontinued) w/orig. footswitch, manual, and cover by Dan Chavers. VERY classy 'Marshallesque' appearance and both Voxy and grinding EL-84 tones on tap. Real leather/stitched handle. 375.00 shipped conus. These are still like new, I might even be so brave as to use the word "mint," and truthfully no more than a couple hours of useage on them. No operational issues at all. Guitfiddler1953@hotmail.comWhere can I get some info and background on the Peavey? Sounds good but I don't know squat about them. Thanks,Tim
guitfiddler Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 Are you gonna sell a Ceriatone?No, they are keepers (JTM45 & Plexi 50 1986 "bass" ).
guitfiddler Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 "Where can I get some info and background on the Peavey? Sounds good but I don't know squat about them. Thanks,Tim"A couple were sold recently on ebay, so there are some pics & descrip's. there, also you can go to Peavey.com, and print off an owners manual for the amp from their product support, which will have pics of the controls, description of the tubes etc., and functions. http://cgi.ebay.com/Peavey-Classic-50-Watt...1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Peavey-Classic-50-Head...1QQcmdZViewItemThey still make the Classic 50 amp, BTW, but only in combo form.
cordroad Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 How's it do at lower volumes? Does it lose some dynamics at "bedroom" level?
Brewmaster Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 But I also recently got 2 CeriaTone Marshall clones, so don't feel sorry for me.... lol. Smart man! The Ceritone stuff is top shelf and dead on clones. My 18 watters are incredible.
guitfiddler Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 Bumping updated post to top. Thanks to all who have expressed interest thus far.
