Nuclear Wessel Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I hate to see these go, but I've been slacking on my one in/one out rule, so a couple have to go. These are for sale in the USA only. I will not ship them overseas. Sorry to you international Cali fans. Payment by postal MO or Paypal (+3% for fees). First is a '96 Californian Elite with mahogany body and cherry transparent finish, purchased from another HFC member about 5 years ago. Excellent condition. A few small inpressions on the front and back, one little ding, not down to the wood, on the lower bout between the trem and the strap knob. Light pick swirling. A little buckle rash, but by no means heavy worming. A few small dinks, caused by a guitar strap, down near the bottom strap knob along the edge of the lower bout. It's been played (mostly by the previous owner, it's been in its case most of the time I've had it) but well taken care of. I list all these things because I don't want a buyer having any nasty surprises, but they're all not even noticeable except close up. The grain of the chunk of mahogany Hamer used for the body is really cool and the cherry transparent finish looks awsome on it. Frets have next to no wear. Neck is straight, action is low. Neck profile is the slightly beefier mid 90's profile. It plays great and sounds huge. Pickups are the stock Trembucker and a Duncan vintage single. I plugged the guitar in for a little while last night just to make sure everything worked and these two pickups actually make a pretty good combination. The middle position on the pickup selector, with both pickups on, sounds great for clean tones. The trem is a Hamer Schaller. Comes with Hamer case and whammy bar. Next is an '88 Californian Standard, midnite pearl with rosewood fretboard and dots. Rescued from a coworker who had become too busy with his engineering carreer and personal life to play much guitar anymore. Very good + condition. Only reason I don't say excellent is it has a couple of hairline cracks in the finish, common on the mid to late 80's Hamers with the thin nitro laquer finishes. Other than that, a few small impressions on the front and back. Nothing visible except close up. No wood showing. Frets are in great shape, very little wear. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the fretboard. Low action. The neck is a wider, noticeably flatter profile. Pickups are a Duncan Custom Custom and Vintage single (SSL-1). The switch on the front taps the bridge humbucker. With the pickup selector in the middle and the bridge humbucker tapped I get a great clucky, hum cancelling Str@t tone. The switch was added because when I got the guitar, the previous owner had installed EMG's and added a tone control. The switch covers the hole where the tone pot was. The trem is an original Floyd Rose. Comes with Hamer case and whammy bar. Prices: $800 + shipping for the 96 Cali Elite $600 + shipping for the 88 Cali Standard For sale in the USA only. Will not be shipped overseas. Payment by US postal MO or Paypal (+3% for fees).

I checked the Hamer website and they only showed one that had the boomerang, but only 1 on the 12th fret.

The USA models that they made from the late '80s - '97 typically came with full boomers on the Custom and Elite models. They did have a variant in the early/mid 90s with two boomers, but that was it.
