Its high-end response is sweet and sparkly, with not a hint of harshness. It produces amazing sounds at real-world volumes, doesn’t play favorites to single-coil pickups or humbuckers, and its imminently usable Contour lets a player fatten things up to their liking. The Voxer compares favorably or even exceeds the tone of the amps that inspired it, and you can get one at a fraction of the price – though it’ll still set you back in a way we’ve come to expect in today’s boutique amp market. Still, this is an absolute killer.” $1,950. for Head and 2x10 Fane Cabinet Shipped. (Split Paypal) Gabi Bucataru is becoming almost a cult amp builder 'ala Dumble. Email me for more info. ZR Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Looks and sounds nice!! Why the yellow jacketed tube with red rings. Some kind of anti-microphonic tube jacket? Or, part of a pimp my amp project in the works? ; )
santellavision Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 The yellow wrap and the rings reduce the vibration. EF86's are more prone to vibration noise than 12AX7's etc. I've not tried without it, so I don't know for sure, but Gabi is a fanatic about the details.
santellavision Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 Not me playing in that one clip above. But, I do have some sound files on the Gabriel website of me demo'ing the amp.
discountsounds Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I listened to your files on Gabriel's website. Pretty kick ass. I had no idea we had another boutique builder in the Chicago area - Arlington Heights no less!
santellavision Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 Price dropped to $1975. shipped. (A steal, the head sells for $1,990. alone!)
santellavision Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 The Voxer is now going to new home. I'm sad.
