geoff_hartwell Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Due to a bizarre convergence of circumstances I have found myself in posession a neck with tuners, pickups and Clapton Strat body with the boost... but no hardware. I'm NOT A STRAT GUY so I'm kind of baffled. I suppose I could go to Allparts, or StewMac, but I thought I might see if anyone has a few wayward parts in their drawer. I'm looking specifically for a black one-ply pickguard, white knobs and switch tip, screws, strap buttons, bridge ...well, anything really. Going for the David Gilmour 70's "Tuxedo" strat-look, rather than Clapton. I've got plenty of pedals and cables and doo-dads for trade if anyone can come up with some stuff. I thank you for your kind attention. Geoff
DavidE Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 You should note that the single ply pickguard on the Clapton model has a different screw configuration than your standard strat pickguard. I can't remember the number, but if you just get a run of the mill pickguard, you'll have to screw some new holes. It uses a standard 6 screw vintage style strat bridge.
geoff_hartwell Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Right on- I think it's 10 hole rather than 8 or 11. I may just have to have a new one made- but I trying to avoid that! Geoff

Craig S Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 It's just a vintage guard.... Should be easy enough tp come by... I think the 57' reissue uses the same one
geoff_hartwell Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 Yep it's the 8 hole. Just ordered one from Stew Mac.Thanks!
MCChris Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Pretty sure I still have the white knobs and switch tip off a USA Highway One Strat. I'll check tonight.
