FS: Valvetech VAC 22 Head & Carr Mercury

These are over at TGP, but I thought some of the members over here might be interested.

After much experimentation and conversions from combos to heads and heads to combos, I've decided to pare the amp collection down to a Silverface Princeton and a Hayseed 30. So these 2 are on the block (maybe). Prices below, IMO, are fair, but don't be afraid to make an offer if you think I'm off base. Many more pics here:

Pristine condition Carr Mercury amp with creme tolex, original KT66 tube and Kingpin 60 speaker. One of the best and coolest small practice and home amp I've ever played. I'm not 100% sure that I won't pull this one before it's sold, so act fast before I come to my senses. $OLD.

Valvetech VAC 22 Head. The VAC 22 was originally housed in a 1x12 combo cab, but I had Rob build a head cab so I could get cutsey with my different amps. The head cab is in like new condition. The amp was serviced by Rob at Valvetech earlier this year and updated to the most current version. There is a double footswitch to control reverb and the gain boost on channel 2. The speaker cab in the picture below has been sold. $700 plus shipping.

A friend is coming to test my VAC combo tomorrow, would you ship the VAC head to Belgium ?

Normally, I'd say no. But for you, I'd do it. I'd certainly pack it well and ship it fully insured. E-mail or PM me if you decide you want it and I can research shipping fees & such and we can work out the particulars.

Classy man !

I'll let you know ASAP if he's interested. I'll handle the deal then.

It's actually quite easy. EMS through the post office works well and it's around $135 for a guitar. Paperwork is a bit of a pain in the wrist to fill out, but not too bad. If you ship around a Catholic holiday, they just deliver the package to the recipient and forego diddling with VAT.

Yeah, I've shipped things internationally. I just don't like it. If I'm shipping w/in the US, I can take the guitar or amp to work with me, pack it up and just schedule a pickup. With all of the customs forms, I'm only going to feel comfortable dropping an inernational package off at the PO. I've never had a problem, but I've just decided it's not worth the hassle for some random guy on the internet I don't know. But I've dealt with Conrad before (although I only had to ship the Korina Jr. to his friend here in the US) and he's been very hospitable to other HFC members. I'd do the same for most of the guys around here. Maybe, just maybe, I'll go to Belgium someday and Conrad will allow me to hang out with him for a few days.

Conrad is aces, and it appears he's determined to stockpile all the available Valvetechs in Europe. Gotta admire that.

Your VAC with the hangin' chassis is awesome. I'm tempted to buy it myself (especially for that price) because it would be a great visual match for my Tonemaster 4x12 done up with Blackface aesthetics. But that would just be silly.

He's not doing too badly with the Hamers, either. And he lends them to Guy Forsyth, so major points for that too!

The guy who's eventually wants to buy it is mainly a Harp player, so we'll have to check out how the VAC works with harps.

And Currypowder, you're welcome to deliver the amp personally, if you don't like the paperwork

Bump for some nice amps.

The deal with the harpplayer didn's worked out....

The Carr Mercury is SOLD!

I'll consider trades for the Valvetech for a guitar (no amps). I would love to trade the amp plus cash for a lightweight Standard. Korina would be great.
