yup

the bigger cabs all had horns before acoustic made that look popular.

I went to college with a kid that had one and tried to sell it to me. I bet he still has it.

If I remember they were rather shrill. guess so with a horn

I always liked the look

How about this one ?

(Scroll down the page!)

I sold a ton of these in the eighties. They have a switch on the back of the chassis that you can set back to 110 V and you just need to put a US power plug to the power cord and you're good!

I always thought that the overdriven sound was a bit on the 'too warm / mushy' side of things - too much of that Carlos type sound for me, just not enough grit.

The clean sound was where these amps really shine - very fendery!

They started out as Models 165 (hardwood) and 164 (vinyl). They later added a 60-Watt vinyl version called 163, which actually to me sounded better overdriven than it's 100 Watt brethren.

In the 80's, we got those direct from Acoustic and sold them by the truckloads as real Boogies were still rare and very expensive (the dollar was worth about 1,50 EUR in those days!).

I never really figured out what happened to the Acoustic Control Corp.
