Citrus Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Has anyone used one of these in a live situation? If I'm only going to do 3-4 songs that require an acoustic ( there is another guitar player who will play electric) is it worth getting an acoustic electric, or would one of these pedals suffice?Any pedal reccomendations?
silentman Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 My experience with the boss one: sounds like ass. Get yourself a duotone or godin. Both piezos sound excellent. The music man stuff is great too.
paults Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 The Boss pedal sounds pretty good to me (although I'm using it through a POD XT with the acoustic amp model). If you use the neck pickup, and strum around the 17th fret, it'll work.
serial Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 I had the Boss Ac Sim when it first came out and it worked ok for what I needed at the time (songs like Frank Black's "Los Angeles" with a more heavy-on-the piezo acoustic sound). I liked that I could stomp the acoustic on or off quickly.
Buzzy Fretts Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 The Boss unit on an electric sounds like an ovation. The Boss unit on a Duotone (or Ovation) sounds like a Martin.
