WZIMMROD Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I hate to have to part with this but.....it is just too taxing on my bad shoulder!I recently picked up an incredible Studio Custom from HFC member Jaye Isham. It is an incredible piece with added WCR Filmores. Sounds, plays and looks amazing in every respect, but it is just too heavy for me. I have had several op's on my shoulder and even a slightly heavy guitar is proving to be too much. Sucks, but what can I do. Seems that all I can play now is light weight guitars (i.e. Korina). Anyway, I would like to just recoupe what I paid for it......$ 1,400 plus $ 42 if you want to use paypal. The original post, with pic's can be found at: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.p...c=24348&hl=If anyone has something in Korina, i.e. a PRS McCarty Korina, or a lighter weight guitar, i.e. a Superpro, I would be interested and would put in some cash if needed.Regards,Wayne
jisham Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 That's the best sounding Studio Custom I've ever played (and there's been a bunch). I don't recall it being particularly heavy at all, but then again, I've never had shoulder problems. I wish I was in the financial position to get it back...Whoever gets it is going to own a seriously great guitar.
WZIMMROD Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 Hi Jaye,You are right, this is a great guitar. The sound is beyond belief....you have made me a WCR fan...they are going in every one of my guitars. The weight is not terribly heavy....I do not have a scale to get an accurate weight....but I have had 2 pretty serious sports related shoulder injuries and the slighest tweaking causes me great discomfort. Op's have corrected some of the problems, unfortunately not all. I now play my Greco Zematis almost exclusively as it is just over 6 lbs....amazing what a difference 2 to 3 lbs can make.I was hoping there might be some good Korina out there as I have found the light weight Korina guitars to be one answer to my problem. And Jay you were correct about the flame on this one. This is not like any other Hamer I have really seen, the flame is wider and more astetically appealling then any I have ever seen. I had a flamed Superpro once that wasn't close to the flame quality of this one.
jisham Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 On its way to me!Congrats...that guitar is pure magic and without question, the best Studio Custom I ever laid my hands on.
