A bit pricey, but pretty cool backstory and clean as hell....

1970 Marshall 1959SLP Stack

This is one strictly for the collectors and quite possibly the cleanest 1959SLP Stack on the planet. Head is totally flawless - cabinets are both 9.5+ condition with just some very minor tolex rubs on the bottom edge only. The head is an "A" serial number, which could make it a '69 or '70, but one of the numbers on the factory label appears to date it to Aug 26 70. A brief history - this set was used briefly in 1970...following year the kid goes to college and it stayed in his old bedroom until it emerged last weekend. It has been stored in bedroom climate the entire time, and kept under original covers (all 3 are included) throughout. A look inside reveals (chassis pic) ORIGINAL Mullard EL34 power tubes and Brimar UK preamp tubes. This amp is 100% unmolested and I'm pretty sure I was the first person to "look inside". Note that this is an aluminum panel, so it's a few grand cheaper than a Plexi but cosmetics are the same, circuit is nearly identical, and depending on who you speak to, some like this model better than the Plexi from the previous year. 1960A/1960B Cabinets feature the salt&pepper aka Gray Basket Weave with small logo, gold piping, black Levant covering, and the older bronze casters. Speakers are the renown Celestion G12M 25W Greenbacks and cabinets are signed on the inside by the man himself. This setup isn't for the weak of bank account, but if you're a collector who wants only the best of the best - or a rich touring musician (roadies note), it's a bargain compared to well-worn stacks going at over $5K. For this true museum quality, one of the holy grails of rock amplification, it's very reasonable at $7000 - especially considering that the reissue full stack is over $4K. Why not own the real thing and know that you have possibly the cleanest Super Lead full stack on the planet.

That is a beautiful thing.... If I had the loose coin, I'd do it in a heart beat.

Yeah, good price really, I would snap that f*ckka up if I had 7K hangin' around. Uh, Kurt....you just spent more than that on Elmwoods, didn't you?
