nosajwp Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Do you guys have any opinions on the Rio Grande single coils for Strats and Teles? Specifically, I'm interested in their Dual Calibrated set for Strats, and their Muy Grande and Dirty Harry sets for Teles.
FunkyE9th Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I have a muy grande on the bridge of my tele. It's nice and fat and still maintains the tele sound...got rid of the ice pick. I will probably eventually replace the neck pup with a Tall Boy.On my G&L Legacy, I have the Muy Grande neck and middle and Stelly on the bridge. I was hoping the Stelly will give the Muy Grande tele sound on my G&L. It didn't. The neck and middle is nice and fat, maybe a little too much at times. It was great when I first got it, but after a while I'm thinking Tall boy might have been a better neck and middle choice.On my PRS EG I have the Tall Boys on the neck and middle. Sounds great! But I have yet to find the right bridge humbucker to go with the Tallboys.-FunkyE9th

Jeff R Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I have a Muy Grande kit in my partsocaster tele and I like it a lot, but I lean more towards big and phat howling rock tele over traditional twangy tele.
