Some of you guys know these, but here's a crash course for those who don't:

Full Schaller hardware

REAL mahogany 2pc bodies and necks

Solid figured maple tops (no veneers here)

Ebony fretboard with mop (the 'p' is 'pearl' not 'plastic')

mop Dean logo.

Elliott Rubinson (Dean CEO) has estimated no more than 500-600 Czechs got made, including all the bolt ons, so snap this up. It's also got a set of Manlius Wurstkotzenbuckers ( http://www.manliusguitar.com/Humbuckers.html ) and the tone controls bypassed and a brand spankin new bone nut. Yep, it even stays in tune. Nuts, huh?

The bad: like most of these, the finish has cracked around the neck pocket, but it's still structurally sound. The bridge saddles are chrome and older than God (to replace a very poorly installed set of Graphtecs that came on it). Asking $600 shipped in contenental US.

It's a total screamer, but I don't need 2 of the same guitar in different finishes and my purple one is just...well...purple.

I'll give it a few days and then it'll hit the 'bay.

Now that I think about it, nothing you'd want. Why are you selling all these cool guitars? Custom order?

I'm sure I'll end up regretting it later, but it's pretty much "what am I doing with my life?" Too many guitars, too little room, too much debt, etc.

Dude! You're single right? I have 3 guitars and wish I had 10 more! you've got some killer guitars, I'm sure you will regret selling them. Do you have a Jap. LP with a Floyd?

Sorry, I don't have one. I'm actually married now and getting out of the navy in a couple years and looking to start a family and all that fun stuff. All these guitars that I don't play will pad my savings account and make things go a little smoother when I get out.

Weighs around 7lbs (according to my woefully inaccurate scale) and the neck profile is a medium/thin C. I don't have much to compare it to but it's hella comfy.

Wow! I have the exact same guitar and was beginning to think that I had the only one. My SN is 95015. I have been unable to find much of anything on them. Mine is in perfect condition since I bought a Hamer Artist a month after the Dean and have been playing the Artist almost fulltime.

They are some exceptionally fine axes, and you are asking a very good price...considering the rarity and quality of the guitars. Good luck.

Thanks. I actually ended up selling it to a Dean dealer. :D

Hmm...if a dealer gave you $600, then he/she is probably going to ask about $800 or so. I am thinking of asking $800 for mine, but only because it is in +9.9 condition.

Do you know much of the history of the Czech models? I have been looking but cannot find anything. I was told when I bought mine that Dean wanted an overseas manufacturer and went with the Czech's since they have a tradition of making violins, and by being located in Europe he had greater acesses to quality components.

No I meant the dealer bought it for himself. He has a few of them and likes to play them at his church. FWIW, Dean Z was not with the company when they started Czech production. Elliott Rubinson was/is the owner and wanted more upscale stuff than Korea but didn't have the means to build them in the US so he went with the Czechs, since they're pretty good at that sort of thing over there (like the violins, not to mention Specter basses). Also: Dean got himself fired a few weeks back. That cracks me UP!

That is funny. Getting fired from the company that has your name...

Do you know the details on why?

never heard of that happening before - at least not at a guitar manufacturer
