santellavision Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Just received an email from Mojotone. They have a few amp kits on sale. Like this JTM45 for $600! Heck of deal if you know what you're doing. Bzzzzzzzz Whaaaapt! Ouch!!!Mojotone Amp KitAnyone put one of these together? How hard are they?
Steve Haynie Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 The price is right, but this would not be the project for a beginner. Of course, you can buy it now and practice on some other kits before jumping in on this one.

Bzzzzzzzz Whaaaapt! Ouch!!!Mojotone Amp KitAnyone put one of these together? How hard are they?Don't know anything about this particular amp kit, but I do know that most builders say that the Marshall-type kits require some previous experience to tackle successfully. This is a GREAT price, though, so there is room for some trial and error. I'm going to build an amp kit one of these days, but I'm going to go with the Mission 5E3 kit since the old tweed amp kits are supposed to be a good place to learn (plus they sound totally bitchin').
fractal Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 That seems like a great deal. "I do not need a JTM-45... I do not need a JTM-45..."It looks like it is that, and a low power tweed twin on sale.
JGale Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Not that there is anything intimidating about this design if you have any experience lacing up kits, it's what to do if it doesn't work straight out of the chute? Less complicated gain structures and less crowded topologies are less susceptible to "gremlins" that will guarentee drive you nuts.
