Hamer of the gods Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I am selling Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '51 Relic Telecaster in blonde. This guitar comes with the original presentation case, accessory pack and certificate of authenticity. The guitar is in new (relic) condition with medium wear on the body, neck and fretboard done at the Fender Custom Shop (see photos.) This guitar has never been gigged and used in my smoke-free home. This instrument is part of a limited run of 100 done for the 2005 winter NAMM show. The guitar is stock except for Duncan straplock buttons and a custom 5-way switching system, I will include the original 3-way as well. Pickups are a nickle covered Duncan '59 in the neck and a Fender Custom Shop Broadcaster pickup in the bridge. The neck is a FAT 50's profile with 6105 frets and a custom modern 9.5" radius which makes bending a breeze! The body is lightweight ash (7.8lbs on a bathroom scale) is nicely checked and has very authentic looking wear. The 5-way switch was installed by a pro tech in Nashville, it gives you some cool series/parallel and phase options as well as standard Tele sounds. I had this mod done to get an Albert Collins out-of-phase tone and it nails it! The sounds can be further modified by the tone control, kind of like the S-1 switch on newer Fenders. Here's how it works: Position with tone control up: 1. Bridge 2. Bridge and neck parallel in phase 3. Neck 4. Bridge and neck parallel out of phase 5. Bridge Position with tone control down: 1. Neck and bridge series in phase 2. Neck (tone control rolled off) 3. Neck (tone control normal) 4. (Same as position 2) 5. Bridge and neck series out of phase This mod also involves a smaller value tone control capacitor (.01uf) to make the tone control more usable and less muddy. I will include a wiring schematic of this mod in case you want to make changes or reverse it. I'm asking $2750.00 Paypal is OK and shipping is on me. Thanks for looking!
Zoner Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Pickups are a nickle covered Duncan '59 in the bridge and a Fender Custom Shop Broadcaster pickup in the bridge. Very "Micawber" And it goes nicely with the relic'd flooring! Z

I hate to part with it but I need a new fence for my new giant dog!
