Gabe Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 This very beautiful Hamer USA Studio Custom with a couple of nice upgrades was sold in a recent auction by Marlon2713 from Virginia (USA) to gonna*get*it in Germany. According to the auction it was sold for €1157 (that is $1428). See http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1 Now the guitar is being sold by old59er in the UK. See http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...7330983020&rd=1 The starting price is €1876 (that is about $2380), which is more than €600 (that is $760) more than it has been sold before in an auction 2 weeks ago. I did not trust the first auction, because the seller did not answer my questions and I was glad that I did not win the auction. However the last seller, old59er, answers on my question on how long he has owned the guitar that it has been two years. That is not possible looking at the auction from two or three weeks ago. Moreover it is not possible to transport the guitar in such a short time from the USA to Germany and then to the UK. I smell baloney fryin'. However it is possible that Marlon2173 is fraudulent and old59er is not. Any opinions on this matter? Thanks in advance. Gabe Edited to add: it really is the same guitar, look at the serial no.
tomteriffic Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I'd bet on the first guy being fraudulent, what with zero feedback, etc.
SirDouglas Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Same pics .... the zero feedback is prob his schiller account ... also the gee tar might not have traveled at all and is still in the same spot it originally was in and would be shipped from there.... i smell fraud on this whole thing from a mile away.... plus its my job to spot this and it SCREAMS scam....just run and dont look back... while it might be a nice guitar, i suggest not bothering ... better safe than sorry.... Sir Douglas Randy
