LostArt Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 violin shaped beatle bass. My supplier says these are made in the same factory that makes the Hofner icon series. I am not sure if that is true but I was very impressed with this copy and the build quality. nice playing bass and has that Beatles vibe $199.99 plus shipping if interested contact me at alpep@lostartvintageDOTcom
cmatthes Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Although I haven't played this exact bass, I HAVE played the Hofner Icon series basses and they are really a great deal and surprisingly well made. My son's teacher has one of these (I think it's the exact same one? The only difference is the tuners) that he uses for lessons. I was actually a little sad that my 10-year-old opted for a CIJ Mustang bass over one of these at Xmas!Fun little bass, and sounds cool with flats.
tomteriffic Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I have what appears to be the exact same bass with a different name on the headstock. It's great for a player with smaller hands, guitarist that just wants to dabble or a bassist looking for something different tone-wise.As Chris said, slap some flats on there and you get a neat punchy but round tone. It weighs nothing, sits nicely in a recording and is just all around fun.Somebody grab this.
