tc2 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 heres a Gretsch before they came out with the reissues... pretty rare. looks and plays just like the real deal. added pictures!
tc2 Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 yeah and it plays great ... I wouldnt sell it but I have another big hollow body and I want a Duo-Jet.
tc2 Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Im selling my WF-140 to get a Duo or Silver Jet (dearmond model).http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...sid=p2762.l1259
maxschrek Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I've played this guitar. Fucking amazing, light with a skinny neck. Sounds and feels like the real deal. If I had the bread I would buy it! Seriously folks, this is a cool guitar from an up and up seller, somebody here needs this Mofo!!! T
tc2 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 It rocks but Ive got another Gretsch style hollow body and want a Gretsch Jet. I will take 995.00, I paid that plus fees and shipping (around 175.00) this is a deal, priced used Gretsch Falcons? this is the same guitar for half!
currypowder Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Man I wish I could stop looking at this. If I didn't already have a Gretsch Setzer SSLVO, I would have probably already snagged it. I have owned many grecos made from the late 70s to late 80s and have never been disappointed with the quality, playability or sound. I'm sure this one is no exception. Good luck with the sale!
tc2 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 the quality is amazing and it feels old and broke in compared to my stiff new Gretsch... the pickups sound like an old Country Gent I had, nails the George Harrison sound. the only complaint I have is that the body seems very BIG and the guitar seems long like a Gibson Firebird because Im Malcolm Young size.Im surprised someone looking for a Falcon hasnt jumped on it, the cheapest Gretsch Falcons Ive seen are in the 2000 range. the only reason I want to sell it is that I have another hollow body and want a Duo or Silver Jet with DeArmonds otherwise I would keep it...plus Im losing money if I sell it for what Im asking. If it doesnt sell its not the end of the world.
cmatthes Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 That is SO tempting, but like many other people, the timing just ain't right!Great guitar.
tc2 Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 yeah its a sucky time of the year, and the mini-depression isnt helping. if it doesnt sell oh well...you can buy mine or this other one...http://www.guitarsjapan.com/1987_Greco_Sup...ite_Falcon.html
tc2 Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 it doesnt move so I assume its pinned or spot glued? Its listed on ebay if it doesnt sell there I will probably just end up keeping it, t
currypowder Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 it doesnt move so I assume its pinned or spot glued? Its listed on ebay if it doesnt sell there I will probably just end up keeping it, t Thanks,,, I really shouldn't be contemplating it, but the Gretsch Falcons have been on my GAS list for a while now. You need to buy it, David. Because if you do, you and I both know we'll end up trading it back and forth!
