elduave Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Saw the show at Ripken Stadium (Aberdeen, MD). Def Leppard delivered as they usually do, nothing extraordinary. They played a few songs from the coming covers album. Rock On by David Essex is *not* a good choice! The real surprise of the show was seeing Bryan Adams again after 20 years. I was way into the "Reckless" period. Dude is the Canadian Springsteen. STRONG pipes, great songwriter, great frontman. Brought back alot of memories. And Keith Scott kicks total ass! I picked the Bryan Adams at Budokan DVD tonight. Anyone that enjoys his music should pick it up. They play as a trio with Bryan on bass.
SirDouglas Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 i tend to agree with ya there elmorethan1vowel.... dead leatard hasnt done anything GOOD since thier 1st 2 albums..... belikerick Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I saw Bryan Adams at the Atlanta Amnesty International show back in '86 and he was definitely the surprise of the show for me. Great voice and energy - good set all round. What a great lineup, also with Peter Gabriel, U2 and that was the first/last night of The Police reunion. Great stuff!
bigjel Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I saw Bryan at Brighton back in 1987 - Great show but my overiding memory is being hit on the head by his drummer's drumstick as he threw it in to the crowd at the end of the show! I think I still have it at home somewhere.I saw Def Leppard at Wembley around about the same time. Again, great show but not so impressed with what they have done since.
Disturber Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Def Lep where okay on Pyromania and Hysteria,Steve Clark was the coolest member. Without him, yyaaawwn....Bryan Adams. All I remember is that terriblesong with Sting, and was it Rod Stewart?"One for all", he did it on the Live8, whata crap song. Made me go and take a dump. His first album was ok but after that theyall kind of sound the same.Bryan Adams = the Kevin Kostner of music business.
elduave Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 Def Leppard's Slang and X are great records.
