Wonder if hamer would make me one of these:)http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...7304054170&rd=1 A set neck Korina Strat. Interesting but too much $$$$. I really doubt that Hamer would build a strat again but with some of the custom orders I 've seen of late, who knows. If you don't mind a bolt on, which a Strat is anyway, get the parts from Warmoth and build it yourself or have someone do it for you. It will cost 1/3 as much and it should be every bit as good if not better. I had a Korina Tele built for me from Warmoth parts by Bill Nash a few years ago. It is still the #1 guitar in my collection.
phoenix Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Doody, the early Fender custom shop (92 IIRC) made set neck strats with quilt maple 'tops'. They are on ebay for 1/2 that if you are looking. Signed certificates from John Page and all. The one I had briefly was Alder? definitely not korina. They have thin necks and Lace pickups, both of which increased my suckage. steve
MCChris Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Personally I don't think ANY bolt-on guitar is worth more than $1000. Unless, of course, it's a vintage piece.
marcus2 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 It's actually a set neck, but your point still stands...it's a Fe**er style guitar. When I think of the other great stuff you can get if you're willing to spend that kind of cash....
thecajunboy Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Hey Bill,You missed the Outer Circle for this one.
MCChris Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Hey Bill,You missed the Outer Circle for this one. I'm sure Devereaux will ride in on his white charger and rectify the situation. Or not.
