GaryT Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Anyone play a Pro? What did you think about it. Certainly has a LOT of what I like in a electric. I think I'd really dig a Pro only with the regulat Talldega pick-ups in it. If we were to talk Talladegas for a moment and not specifically the Pro, whats a good price for these used?

I think my favorite version is Jon Herington's, featured in this blog post: Frailin Unbuckers, coil taps, master volume and separate tone controls. Seems to me to be a merging of the best of both the regular and the Pro.
gorch Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Herington's is a great technical solution. I'd also like to know how much it differs to the corresponding Monaco, maybe the semy-hollow SuperPro.Prices, lately, had been in the range from $1300 - $1800, respectively depending on the outfit.
Always Broke Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Tone-wise, awesome (as vague as that is). Mine had a great resonant quality to it, and notes really rang out (I figured the neck scale is a big contributor). Fact is, the neck bothered the crap out of me. I like thick necks, but to me it just started to feel *too* beefy, and the V-shape also kept gnawing at me.Otherwise, I would've kept it. I really dug the TonePros klusons too
GaryT Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 I seen Jon Herringtons, really a nice axe! I know I'm really gassing for one of these more and more. I'd love to do a combination of the two. I like the Sustain block, but I like the Dual Volume and Tone also with Victory Inlays.Wonder how much difference the Sustain Blocks make from the Stop-Bridge? $1300-$1800s not that bad. I haven't seen one go as low as $1400. yet. But I really haven't been watching on a daily basis.I always liked the Tone Herrington gets and his playing.
