sonic1974 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Hey guys, I know this is kind of a long shot, since they are not super common amps. Anyways, I'm interested in picking up an Ampeg Reverbrocket combo. I want the re-issue version, not an original one. If anyone has one they are thinking of getting rid of, pm me or email me at thesonicdefender(AT)hotmail(dot)com 1x12 prefered. Thanks for your time. Oh yes, I live in Canada, so you must be ok with shipping here. Rob B.
GusS Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 just curious, why the reissue and not the original?
sonic1974 Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 just curious, why the reissue and not the original? Hi GusS, Good question. I've never actually tried the original, so I don't know what they sound like. The original was a single channel, and the reissue has a channel switcher with a clean/distortion sound. I think they are pretty different amps. I had one back in the day, and I really like both the sounds. Pawned it when I was broke. I've had a couple of amps since, and I think the Ampeg I had before suits me better. Unfortunately, they don't make them anymore, not exactly sure when they stopped. Guess they weren't too popular!
GaryT Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 The originals come around . There was one at the local GC here for months. They wound up putting it on managers specials. They are pretty good Clean sounding Fendery amps.

The overdrive channel on the reissue is really cool.
sonic1974 Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 love those amps Me too! A couple have showed up on E-Bay, but nobody wants to ship to Canada. I found one at a music store in Windsor, a Canadian city about 5 hours from me. I'd still have to pay shipping, but at least there wouldn't be any duty or anything. The price is higher than what stuff is going for on E-bay, but once you add in shipping and duties and stuff......hmm might end up being about the same. Argg..decisions decisions. I have enough cash to buy it now, but eventually I'd have to get rid of my present amp. Sometimes I think I'm crazy, flipping through amps like this. I find them harder to evaluate than guitars. It's hard to know really how they will sound in a band setting when you try them in a store. Ok, I'll stop rambling now. Really just trying to convince myself it's ok to spend more money on gear!
