I'd been looking for a strat conversion neck in maple and you guys had several to choose from. Pick your own frets. It's a no-brainer. I also have a Warmoth maple tele neck with the 6100s so I'm not a first timer. Easy as pie. Heck, the mounting holes are already drilled.
Jamie K Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I took the bait!ordered a very lightweight swamp ash tele body (beautiful, tight grain) and an all birdseye maple tele neck (compound radius...sweet!) with jumbo frets, 1-11/16 corian nut, and satin nitro finish. Says 4-5 weeks turnaround to complete the neck...hoping that it comes in quicker! But it will give me time to work on the other components. I'm thinking GFS Lil' Killers (with a push-pull for coil split), Wilkinson vintage tuners, and a Callaham bridge. No clue yet on finishing the body....but I got a guy who paints cars and motorcycles!should be fun if I don't screw it up!Jamie

murkat Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Man, years ago, Bass player and i would raid there annual fall garage sale...all these bodies and necks on 4x8 card tables in the production hall throes. We would clean them out up every fall making guitars and basses. good times.
