nosajwp Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Are there really any authentic sounding acoustic simulators out there?
SirDouglas Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Boss makes one ac-(insert # here cause i dont remember what it is) But i havent tried it and its alwasy got medicore to poor reviews.... anyone else tried this pedal? Sir Douglas Randy
earachemyeye Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 I just brought one home yesterday. I sat down with my acoustic to see if I could get a comparable sound with the pedal and the results are so far: 1. Only works well with one of my guitars (Phantom Custom) without having to mess with the eq settings on the amp too much. I'm lazy cuz I don't want to be crankin knobs in between songs all the time. 2. Seems to work better with single coils or humbuckers that aren't too hot. 3. Sounds more like an acoustic if you strum with your fingers instead of a pick. 4. I'm bringing it to practice tomorrow and we'll see what the commitee says but I think it has a good enough sound to gig with. I've heard a lot worse (digitech) and whatever the local cover band was using the other night. 5. Chorus pedal makes it sound better still. There ya go MHO.Joe
belgian Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Try to check this one: I use it with my T51F and it works great.http://www.d-tar.com/mama_bear.shtmlAnd here's a review that accords a lot to my own experiences :http://www.shorelinemusic.com/amplification/dtar.shtml
bobbymack Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 The Boss AC2 is okay for live situations if you run it through a direct box or graphic eq into the board or an acoustic amp...It will sound like ass if you just put it in your pedalboard chain thru your regular amp.For recording, get a Martin or a Taylor.
