Turdus Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Late last year I posted, looking for Rick 4003. I ended up with a natural one, but I've decided that I'd rather have Jetglo (black) instead. If you have one for sale, or know of one, please let me know. Not willing to pay the "more than new price" for a used one. Thanks.

Will do.I have been actively watching those for the last 2 years, and am still baffled at the pricing of anything used (despite the year) at $2k or higher when new ones sell for a few hundred less than that. I know they're in demand and all, but not THAT much!
currypowder Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 The local guitar shop here (Guitar Emporium) has a '79 4003 in Jetglow for $2,200. Not sure if that's a fair price or not as I know nothing about Ricks. I know that they are good and honest folks to deal with if you're interested, though.http://www.guitar-emporium.com/cgi-bin/qui...?searchstring=bClick on "Info" for their phone number,
JohnnyB Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 There's one in my neighborhood. I've played it and it's suh-weet! You can probably negotiate the price to a bit under $2K.
Turdus Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 You can buy brand new, shipped, for $1950 from MF.They have them in stock. It is when they don't have them, that used prices can climb above new.The new ones even have the new "retro" inlays, and push pull vintage pot. They've only been doing that a few years, so most used ones are kinda run of the mill.Just my Op, but anything over $1500, unless it is an early 70's, or a year or two old, is over priced.

That definitely would put this 4003 in your desired ballpark, but it's in like new shape w/ohsc and all the case candy. Call 'em and see what they'll do.
