I have a Hamer Mirage that I think has the .9 profile....think it's what Hamer calls Vintage profile....kinda beefy. Haven't played any of the older Hamers, so was just curious.

Being only a few years into the Hamer fold, this will be my first "vintage" Hamer.....I am playing in a Battle of the Bands at the State Fair here in a couple weeks & can't wait to use this Special there....plus I have always had a weak spot for vintage BL L500s....I had one in my '76 Explorer's bridge long-ago when i was trying to cop the Perry/Whitford tone....Kudos to eminor for his patience and willingness to be flexible!
Jakeboy Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 My SB Special arrived today & OH MY what a guitar! Teh BLs sound fantastic indeed! It was packed for war better than any guitar I've bought so kudos to eminor for a great deal, patience, & superior packing.There is no fretwear that I can see..... a ding here & there but the guitar looks basically new to me minus 30 years of the finish shrinking.....the neck is thin but not a problem for me...I can fly on it.The top is gorgeous...it just pops...I was missing a hard-rock guitar since I down-sized...now I got it! I will gig it at a local blues joint on 27 Aug & break her in at the State Fair Battle Of The Bands on 17-18 August.My first vintage Hamer....my Artist & Monaco are a bit nervous....
