And BCR is a music store, not a lunch counter. I'm confused.

Jim,

If the Cajuns ever make it back to BCR for a visit, you need to stop by, you might get a different idea. :)

Zoner, your boobies should stay covered....... :)

I am thinking that it will be split up in three sections.

I. Farties to Smarties.... making the most ourt of a neglected guitar.

II. Detailing and mild customs.... Hotrodding and maximizing the guitar's performance

III. They said it was dead..... Our trademark Lazarus style resurrections.

In between each section(or maybe interspersed), I'll throw in some of the crazy road stories, some pics of guitars that I couldn't help with Jesus looking over my shoulder(oh, the humanity...I have some horrid pictures), we'll see.

I am digging all the input. Thanks you all of you who took the time.

Matt, dinner?

OMFG! I'm so stoked! I've heard rumors of y'all's cunnili..culinary prowess. I am so there. AND, it fits square up with my new religion, Pastafarianism.

He who must be devoured on Sunday is blessing you now with his saucy goodness.

For the record I have purchased from Elguapo and Elgreggo and several other fine examples of Brotherhood on this BBS. I've also purchased from each of the three major guitar stores in my area (GC being one of them). I've taken my guitars, acoustic and electric, to a local luthier whose looks could charm the rust off a three legged bar stool. I just bought a used Audi TT from my Godson's father. It's real nice. Today I'm going to purchase a sammich from the sammich shop across the highway. They have an exceptional chicken salad that is chock full of meaty chunks of fowl and dill and just a touch of onion. I think the onion sets it off real nicely and I don't really care for too much dill. Oh and I recently purchased a nice echo from HHB. Someone please buy the rest of his offerings. He is a really nice guy and I hate that he is suffering right now. Someday I hope to meet him. HeĀ  lives near Ashville and I think I might retire there, but you never know. Gwayne says he is a really nice guy and I purchased a really nice guitar from gwayne although he is probably going to be upset that I am considering selling it soon to fund a custom order. Anyone care to purchase a trans-red spruce top Newport from me? It has many nice modifications done to it.

In closing I'd like to say God Bless and may all your chickens come home to roost. Especially in one of the sammich shop's fine roosted chicken sammiches.

Jim

I think the chickens are coming home to roost in Lemoyne, PA.

Ted, this is not an "Alpep (who?) vs. BCR vs. El Guappo vs. Wilcutt vs. Godzilla" thing.

I see posts regarding poor customer service from various guitar and amp dealers (that includes GC) on here all the time, with others chiming in about shared experiences.

Read Greg's first response to my post again.

Because I didn't question, for a time, that he sent me back a guitar he repaired without the rare PU that was replaced (and for the record, it was NEVER agreed on that he could keep it), it's NOT stealing?

Greg, I give you permission to tell everyone here what I paid you for that repair....you know, the "discount" you gave me as a customer and an "HFC friend".

Go ahead, tell 'em the story. Include the part where you wouldn't let me pay you with a credit card (even as a customer and an HFC 'friend') so I could retrieve my guitar from your workshop. Include the part where you offered my guitar to another person on this board (who contacted me immediately because he knew something didn't seem right about the transaction).

Include the part about your storage/interest fees for the HFC "friends" you solicit from this MB and the "deals" you give loyal customers.

Dang, scan my receipt and post the jpg here, if you like.

Let's clear this up....you wouldn't want me to harbor any resentments, would you?

want some dirt on your good buds in the disgruntled players whinning area? I got it, seen it w/ my own eyes, shit goes down, some forget some don't, I guess neither of us do, but show some restraint, I know I do

This is really wrong, and Ted I urge that the dispute content of this thread be removed without prejudice. This is a man's business and livlihood, and disputes should be handled off-line.

I'm all for a good flame war when some dumbass like me shoots his mouth off, but this content should be off limits.

I have been in the CNC sales field for 5+years.

My competition is brutal as everyone can build the same machine for the same cost/profit margin etc.

Yet, when we have a convention we (me and my my competition) can all meet as friends- business is business and the "world" we work in is very small.

Have the companies I worked for satisfied 100% of the people 100% of the time? Hell no. My competition will say the same. You can't satisfy 100% of the people 100% of the time- no matter what you sell, service, warranty, etc.

Personal issues should remain "personal". I don't want to smell anyone's dirty laundry.

i, for one, am glad to hear about problems with online dealers. why would anyone NOT want to know about this. the good ones rise to the top, the bad ones flounder. doesn't sound like character assasination to me.

I agree this stuff is getting annoying. I was over at the Museum and someone started a Lets get dirt in Greg thread....totally un-necessary. Iv'e had disgruntled ex-girlfriends act more rational than this.

If there is an actual beef, settle it outside of this forum please. It's tired.

No! Absolutely not. When a man's business is at stake, a he said /she said dispute should not be aired in a public forum to leverage or sway opinions. The same goes for Wrecks...I don't know the guy and have no intention of judging him.

good luck on having all the "anti ed roman" messages removed from the internet.

I agree that it's unreasonable to expect a dealer to have 100% customer satisfaction on every transaction. Everyone makes mistakes, and people have differences of opinion. Expecting BCR or any other dealer to have a perfect record would require them to be perfect themselves, which is impossible.

The important thing is to admit when you are wrong, and correct the situation, usually making every reasonable effort to satisfy the customer. There are some customers who will never be satisfied, but they are the exception.

Hamer dealers on this board are here by privelege, not by right. It is very beneficial for them to have access to a concentrated group of Hamer fans. As such, I believe in FULL disclosure about HFC dealers. The good and the bad. If someone has a great experience, I want to know about it. If someone gets screwed, I want to know about it too. That way I can make the most informed decision about where to spend my money the next time I buy a Hamer. If a dealer thinks he is above criticism and refuses to admit mistakes then he shouldn't be here.

In this case we have a disagreement about a business transaction. It is not a personal issue despite the efforts of some to paint it as such. That's an important distinction. And it should be resolved in a businesslike manner.

Mike is right.

It is not personal, despite some folks attempts to paint it as such.

If I came on this board and made a post about an unnamed dealer who did a repair for me and didn't return the rare PU that was replaced, then admitted that they kept it w/o permission, and I asked everyone here if I should do repeat business with that store or recommend them to my friends, this place would have it's collective panties in a wad.

There would be weeping and gnashing of teeth, and rending of HFC garments until justice was served...well, at least there would be calls (especially from Chicago) to name that dealer.

But gee, mention his name in one of his advertisement threads, and what happens?

Don't tell me there is no bias on this MB. Some animals are more equal than others, eightyfour...catch my drift, snowball?

I too believe that this should have happened off the board and that is what I said with my first post. I suspect the part of the intent was to see what I would do. (It's all about me you know :) ) There are those who claim that I show favortism (mainly to greg) yet when asked they have never been able to give me an example. This is definately part of the reason I left it up.

I let it stand and people can take what they want from it. Greg's a big boy and can defend himself cause he I'm not going to do it, I know nothing of the situation but, I am also not going to convict him for the very same reasons. People should make up their own minds about Greg or anyone else in best way possible. Talk to him. You like and trust him you throw him some buisness. You don't you go elsewhere. easy

I think it could have been better handled like this:

<<Phone Ringing>>

Hello, BCR Music.

Hi Greg This is Wrecks. I never got my original pickup back when you put in the Rios can you send it to me?

-- Depending on the answer here maybe I could see doing something like this but out of the gate? where does that put you? --

I think we are done with this now so I am gonna lock this thread

The good news is, most of us have been on the net a while and seldom take the bait anymore. I think that we see how blatant this attempt to stir the pot is. Maybe not, Lets get back to the positive stuff that make this community so great!

bad news, I remember when Wrecks was funny.

"Buy something from El Duave I did."

Sorry El I am afraid the power of the Ted Martin favoritism/endorsement isnt what they make it out to be
