So I'm trying to put this band together and we need a drummer and a bass player to complete the line up. Well I have 3 drummers that are interested, but we can't audition them because I can't get bass players lined up. Good luck, seems bass players are always in shortage. I imagine that's why so many guitar playing buddies end up in their friend's bands playing bass.

I played bass every sunday for 1 year at a church with 1400 people attending due to no

other bass players. You would thing 1 other person would play, but no!

I started playing bass when my brother's band kicked out their bass player and then called me. "You wanna play bass with us? It's just like guitar but with only four strings! Oh, and we gotta gig next weekend."

I live in the far north suburbs of Chicago and wouldn't mind playing bass again. But now that I've reached middle age, my idea of a satisfying music career is one that doesn't take over my life. My "day job" has already done that.
