Cary Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Tank up tonight.I just filled 3 of my 4 cars, at $2.48 (regular unleaded) to $2.68 a gallon (premium). If this hurricane does half the damage that they are talking about in the Gulf Coast, by Wednesday or Thursday $2.68 MAY sound like a bargain...
thecajunboy Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 That really is good advice Cary. I work at a refinery and we've shut down and evacuated the place. Even if we don't sustain any damage, it'll be a couple weeks before it's up and running again. There are several other refineries in the area that are going down as well. The supply is definitely gonna get tight.
killerteddybear Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 It's another sunny day in San Diego, no inclement weather of any kind on the horizon, and I just dished out $2.69/gallon for regular gas at a discount station; the chain gas stations (Chevron, Shell, U76, etc.) are running $2.85...Stay safe in that weather, okay?
Guest galejt Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Something like 30% of crude production in that there Gulf.

Gas price may suck, but it really is fun to rag on people who live places where weather is more extreme (i.e. everywhere else). I tend to tell people who ask how hot it is that "Carlsbad's weather can only be described in varying degrees of pleasantness."I should probably be harsher so more people would NOT come here, though.
killerteddybear Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Every time I've been to Carlsbad there's been one of two types of weather - pleasant and annoyingly pleasant...
