MCChris Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Preferably for the HFC-approved price of $350 or less? I also have some trade fodder.
Turdus Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Take a look at the Hartke 2000. About $230 brand new. 200 watts @ 4 ohms, if that is enuff. Has tube + ss preamps that can be blended. Not a bad sounding unit. I bought one for a backup (thinking I was going back to bass), then sold it after I decided I was not, LOL.
hamertek98 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 MCC, If you're in a pinch I'll lend you a combo amp till you get a bass head. I'm located in Wabash.
hamertek98 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Checked my mail. You can E-me at....butch_gizmo_68atyahoo.com
lonote049 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Chris, I don't know how you feel about Behringer products, but they have brand new Behringer 450W bass amps at GC for $200. I spent some time on Monday messing with one and I thought it sounded good...not great, but good...with a variety of basses from passive Fenders to active Warwicks. It seems to work a little better with passive basses.

Brooks Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 i'd like to try one of those new crate power blocks, 150w bridged 8ohm. they claim that its clean enough for bass/keys/electronic drums. plus i'm a sucka for compact gear.
