Stike Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Big +1's for The Supersuckers, Supagroup, Jet, Silvertide, and Velvet Revolver. Have not heard Kings Of Leon but have heard good things about em. Brooks will diss me for this but I dig FuManchu, super fuzzy Blue Cheer-ish stoner jam.
mainstreetexile Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Somewhat more mellow than other bands listed here, and more Southern, but very guitar-centric: My Morning Jacket
Jeroen Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 We do!!! hehehe Our EP will be out soon after the last recordings.....At this time we are working on our release party with some cool people and things!!!!Jeroen
eightyfour Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 There's a sick band out of Seattle called 'Dudley' that kills!!! The guitar player really knows how to lean on a wah pedal....right Peso?? He even puts stickers on his guitar, man he's the coolest ever!!! --shameless and completely irrelevant band plug---
billhart22 Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 Jeroen -Let me know when it happens...I would love to hear it!Thanks,Bill
wgarces Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Did anyone mention Verbena? If not, check 'em out. Very underrated band. BTW, speaking of eighties bands, HIM has got an eighties vibe to 'em and they rock!
billhart22 Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 Walter - Where do we find Verbana?? All I can find on Google is herbs. Thanks, Bill
billhart22 Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 HIM, I found....very good band, I would love to hear more of their music! Good Call!Thnx,Bill
wgarces Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Walter -Where do we find Verbana?? All I can find on Google is herbs. Thanks, Bill Hey brother, how are you? VERBENA were on Capitol and I think they disbanded a couple of years ago. They've got a cool, smoky, abstract, rnr sound to 'em. Almost like watching a David Lynch movie! wgarces Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 HIM, I found....very good band, I would love to hear more of their music! Good Call!Thnx,BillHIM rocks! They can get a little "goth" sounding at times and maybe even a bit repetitious, but overall they write excellent songs and they're unique. Their keyboards really add to their sound. And they're definetly "eighties" influenced!
Brooks Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Brooks will diss me for this but I dig FuManchu, super fuzzy Blue Cheer-ish stoner jam. awww, fu ain't that bad compared to some of the "stoner rock" bands i've gotten lately (IMFO avoid these - high on fire, unida, orange goblin, st vitus, hidden hand).i really dig a few of the original "stoner" cd's from the 90's;kyuss "sky valley" & "circus left town", obsessed "church within", spirit caravan "jug fulla sun", c.o.c. "deliverence". or, skip directly to the source and get the sabs box set.
Brooks Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 has anybody mentioned govt mule? not that new, & almost as derivitive as jet (whom i also like), but i really dig the 1st few mule albums.
biffrythm Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Also:Backyard Babies and Dirty Americans.
