ton13 Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I found this model in fair condition call about 820 $ us case include . (Price list 1988 1,295 $ us). What do u think about this price? Who can share about sound of this model. I was touch Ovation 2078 little time that very good feel on acoustic . Thanks...every opinions...
Uncle Thor's Hamer Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Ask over at the ovationfanclub.com forums. People there have played and owned them. All Ovations have similar feel to the neck. If you like the feel of the 2078 you should like the Thunderbolt. The 2078 has the deep contour body, so it has a different shape than the Thunderbolt. What are your desires in the acoustic guitar? There are many Ovation models that are outstanding for quality and tone. If the Thunderbolt doesn't work out for you, perhaps we can help identify other models which you would love.I don't know about the price of $820 for the Thunderbolt. Each model is different, but there are many excellent used Ovations available from $350 to $1300.
ton13 Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 Thanks..for advise ovationfanclub.com Actually I interest Thunderbolt cause aspect more than sound. I do not much like to play acoustic guitar. 820$ is higher price if compare in Ovationfanclub ( thanks ) REALLY COOL !

However, in general, a very nice condition used Ovation should sell in the USA for around $500 including case. Some older models go for less even though they are better sounding guitars, some go for more due to being rare. It is very difficult to sell a used Ovation for what it is really worth today. Prices have dropped a lot in the past two years. If you are most interested in getting a good Ovation for a good price, I would advise a different model of Ovation. If you like the Thunderbolt in particular, I am sure that one in excellent condition is "worth" the price you mention, but I don't know if that is the current market value.
