Phantom GT Restoration Ideas?

Hey everyone, new to guitar and I think I lucked into a really decent guitar. From what I gather I have a 84 Phantom GT with it's original hardshell case, but just beat to shreads. I think some one tried to artificially age it. Other then that it works and has all the original part except the pickguard, the back plate was replaced with some cheap plastic and two of the screws that lock the nut down.

Is the guitar worth having professionally restored? I know I'll need to post the pictures at some point. I'm not really much of a metal fan which is what I guess this guitar is more geared twords. But regardless, given what I've read hear this guitar is something special. If I ever part with it, I am going to make sure someone who appreciates it gets it.

a few hours and the right glue should have the interior of that case looking a bunch better. Might want to add/replace the padding while you're in there.

I'd say either keep it as is, or get it refinished/restored.

MAKE IT BLUE SPARKLEY

The resto I posted was originally red. It looked like kind of a candy color but was probably just that cherry color they sprayed on everything back then. I remember seeing at least one other red GT (hanging at the HRC in Chicago with a KK V in a Judas Priest tribute). I think I read somewhere the GTs were kind of a promo item for the defenders of the faith tour. I've got some pics of the guitar stripped to the wood too if you really want to see whats under the paint. I didn't do the restoration work, something came up for sale that I had to have so I sold it before I could get into the refinishing work. It came out really nice though from the guy I sold it to and I still love those pics he took.
