Punkavenger Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I REALLY like the Duncan Distortion pickup bridge position installed in my Korean standard .... Not so happy with the 59 in the neck however, sounds a little flatI realize people use the 59's all the time and love them but I want something with a fuller soundI've decided to install a Duncan Distortion in the bridge position of my new Blitz but I'm up in the air about the neckI see on the internet that some say DO NOT install a Duncan Distortion in the neck while others say that they sound GREAT with a bluesy garage band feel, which is more of what I'm looking for...I don't have a lot of pedals or effects boxes (only 1 a RAT pedal from the 80's)Does anyone have any experience with a Duncan Distortion in the neck position?Should I just use a 59 and supplement with a pedal etc?BTW Kyuss is one of my favorites and I wouldn't mind that sound one bitThanks!
80sRock Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 On my Charvel Model 2 There is a Distortion in the bridge position and who ever had it before me routed and put a distortion in the neck position. I like the way it sounds. Be sure to get the part number for the neck position though.
Submariner85 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I have a pair of SH6's in my Schecter C1 Plus.I think it sounds good but that is the type of music I play so I reckon it depends on your musical taste.I've been doing alot of Wolf Hoffman stuff lately and it sounds good.
Guest Mike Lee Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Be sure to get a DD wound specifically for the neck position, don't just put a bridge DD in the neck. Duncan underwinds the neck pickups to maintain volume balance between the two.
BTMN Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Musician's Fiend err uhh I mean Friend has a set of Duncan Distortion pickups for neck and bridge positioning.
