FunkyE9th Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 The music store by my house has a Hamer Neon Sign that the owner is willing to sell. He told me to make him an offer. I have no clue as to how much those things cost. What's a reasonable offer?-FunkyE9th
Steve Haynie Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Neon signs are usually not cheap in the first place. $100 may be in the ball park if the guy just wants to get rid of the sign.
billhart22 Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Agree with Steve Haynie - Neon signs are not cheap....depending on the size, up to $250 for it would not be unreasonable. Make sure the ballast is in good shape, because they cost more than the signs.Bill
hamertek98 Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Also make sure it's a TRUE neon sign. Not just a light. The ones in the Cig. store (camel, etc) are around 300.00-350.00 new. True neons only have a 3-4 year life if they're on 24/7. A lot of them differ. I mentioned Camel cause I've got one in great shape. Wouldn't take less than 100 bones for it.
FunkyE9th Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Thanks for the info. I guess I need to inspect the sign more closely. All I know is that it still comes on and that it's old. They haven't carried Hamers in the store for years. -FunkyE9th
