USA Hamer Diablo Custom Shop

I have a 93 USA Hamer Diablo custom shop guitar. It is in nearly mint condition. I bought it new in 97 and I am the only one that has owned it. It was one that a guy ordered @ Fat Sound in Cary NC, made a deposite on and never came back to buy. They held it for a l…o…n…g time for the guy but he never came up w/the $. The original $ (I was told) was about $1595 including all options and case. Of course I got it for less b/c he needed to move it. I love the guitar except for one thing. It is a 25 1/2" scale guitar and the neck is set forward for better access to the upper frets. And I am a pretty short, small framed guy. B/c of this, I feel like I'm having to reach to chord it after an hour of playing. I am a working musician so I need axes I can play. I'm not really excited to part with it but I'll play it for a month and it'll sit under my bed for the next 5 or 6 while I play something else. And it is too nice a piece to just sit and do nothing unless you are a collector of nice instruments. I was actually looking for a Studio when I bought the Diablo but the salesman turned me. I'd be interested in offers to buy or discussing a trade for a Hamer Studio, PRS CE22, a Carvin CT4 or CT6 or a Les Paul DC. Pix are available upon request. You can call me @ 252-341-8223 or you can email me at ronnyandlaurakirkman@netzero.com or rkirkman@onesourcebundle.com. Thx for looking!

Hey Ronny! Welcome to the board.

Do you have a description or even better, pics of your guitar? That will definitely help - especially what the Custom-ordered features are, finish, etc.

Thanks. Yes actually I do have pix but not sure how to post them here. As far as the custom features. When I bought the guitar, I was pretty ignorant about Hamer guitars. The sales guy told me the reverse headstock, the floyd, the transparent caramel finish and the winding of the dual humbuckers was custom. I've since learned that a reverse headstock and floyd on a Diablo are apparently not all that uncommon. Anyway to add to it I had the 3 position toggle replaced with a 5 position one and had the pups rewired to get more tonal versatility. If you want some pix email me and I'll get em to ya! Thanks for looking!!!

Welcome to the playground! Sounds like a nice guitar you've got. FYI on uploading pics--First, upload them to a free service such as photobucket.com, then copy and paste the web address into the IMG box. If you look right above the text box while typing your posts, you'll see the IMG button, which will bring up the box.

Good luck!
